Who Are We?
and
What's this "Land Sanctuary"
business all about?
Sacred Land Held in a Sacred Way
Nestled in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, at the base of the Olympic peninsula, Erosia Land Sanctuary was founded in May of 2019 and is still under construction. Our Land is affiliated with the Tree of Life Interfaith Sanctuary and is something we call a "Land Sanctuary". This is a place that was set aside as a natural sanctuary space for people who practice their spirituality in Nature to come and practice in a peaceful, supportive setting.
Erosia is the name of the 13 acres of Land owned in partnership by Sarah Heartsong and Karl Feret in Shelton, WA, with Sarah being majority owner. We are building a camp for naturecentric spiritual experiences. Right now our Sanctuary consists of a 30 ft yurt, several shipping containers turned into a temporary wood shop and storage, a 15 x 20 ft metal building for storage and workspace. We have several camp spots that Sarah rents as temporary rentals on HipCamp (and there will soon be more). https://www.hipcamp.com/en-US/land/washington-erosia-land-sanctuary-xryhle19
As primary owner/operator Sarah Heartsong is currently personally and directly in charge of all the business of renting the Land (it is not through Erosia's nonprofit, but members of Erosia Sarah does give a discount so if you have joined us and haven't gotten a code please ask about it as this is a new benefit of membership).
Erosia is also a religious nonprofit "church camp", which eventually may subsume all three of the business areas, but for now is the organization of the "Service side" of the Land sanctuary. The nonprofit is affiliated with the Tree of Life Interfaith Sanctuary (TOLIS) and is in charge of all the spiritual services upon the Land. iRev Heartsong performs ceremonies, facilitates trainings and events, offers spiritual counsel and trains apprentices through Erosia's nonprofit side. She is also the "Main Sanctuary Servant" of the TOLIS. Erosia also maintains and supports the spiritual art and shrines upon the Land with volunteer Service opportunities.

We have 3 primary spiritual spots for ceremonial and meditative Workings. We are in the process of finishing our 45 ft Memorial Labyrinth, our Shrine of Ambrosia (Ambrosia is a giant maple tree with a woman's figure in her side), and our Hekate's Key Chain (dedicated to Hekate at the central crossroads with the promise that for whatever old keys are left new keys will appear) and will have other spots as well where Seekers can meditate, pray, do ceremonies or spells, and bathe in Nature. All 3 are in process of being developed and we can use volunteers to assist in bringing these Visions into reality.
Erosia's sister business, Heartsong Healing Arts, d.b.a. Rare Earth Designs, runs our wood working shop creating spiritual art for practitioners of most any faith from Erosia. Because this funds the founders' (Revs Sarah Heartsong and Karl Feret's) living, we are expanding as we are able and money becomes available. We are in the process of Rare Earth's building of a permanent shop building having just obtained permitting and architectural designs. We need to move the woodworking business out of the space in the yurt it occupies. Then the yurt will convert back to its intended use as a main Temple space for the Land- for Erosia's Services.

We just completed our first ever Beltane event in 2023. We hived off an event that has occurred in Albuquerque, NM for over 40 years. Sarah Heartsong was Called to Beltane SW in 2002 and attended regularly since then to 2022. It's a specific tradition unto itself and Sarah and Karl attended together 3 times before hiving off this past Beltane, 2022. With their blessings and support we work to create an event based upon that well-established tradition that will occur annually. It will be an "invitation only" event. If you feel compelled to help with it please contact us so we can get to know you and what you have to offer to help ground this event intended to help us get the Land ready to receive Seekers.
